For the vast majority of SEC class attendees flying into the country (2-4 weeks) from the the above locations, you do not need a visa. However, you do need a Multiple Immigration Form (FMM) both if you are flying or driving into Mexico. You can come to Mexico for a month or more as a tourist https://www.touristcardmx.com/, up to 6 months (180 days), if you wish to travel around Mexico beyond Guanajuato after your class. Several students come from Canada, Japan and parts of Europe. This link spells out the requirements there. https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/montreal/index.php/en/foreigners/visa/354-how-can-i-know-if-i-need-a-visa-to-go-to-mexico If you’re only staying 1 month, 3 weeks, etc., the Mexican immigration officials will only stamp your FMM for 30 days, 21 days, etc., and expect you to leave at that time. They use receipts like a round trip plane ticket. If you give Mexican border agents a list of school dates, paid class receipts, AirBNB or hotel receipts you can stay as long as you want (with the corresponding documentation) on a simple tourist or business trip up to that 6 month limit. In general though most SEC students leave Mexico after a month or so, and visa’s never come into play. This link gives all the specifics: https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/boston/index.php/visas-english#:~:text=You%20DO%20NOT%20REQUIRE%20A,not%20accepted%20to%20enter%20Mexico.
How to arrive in GTO. Uber is an option now, unlike before. A pre-arranged bus ride is an option but not if it arrives 10 or 11 PM in the evening.
There is space for all those who wish to participate. It’s recommended to give the school at least a week or 2 of advanced notice so they can notify the host families. If you’re interested in coming, simply send a message with WhatsApp. Mexico uses WhatsApp a lot, so download it if you don’t already have it, and click the “I WANT TO LEARN SPANISH” button at the top of the page. Or if you prefer to speak directly with a human, call the number 407-485-1364. Her name is Stephanie and she’ll be glad to help you.
The day starts at 9:00 AM. Depends on program of 2 X 2 (2 hours grammar / 2 hours platicar) or 3 hrs grammar alone; or perhaps 3 hours grammar plus 2 hours platicar (5 altogether).
Primarily on competence, student enjoyment, incorporation of humor and all the things mentioned in the “Testimonials”.
Not yet, but have sent out messages to get a sister-college in Wis, Cali, Illinois to allow this to happen. Will use a combination of alumni associations and contacts at universities.
